Stalkers and Dreamers

Posted by Andrew on January 21st, 2007

I often find myself scouring books or the internet, to find the best way of doing something. With all the information and knowledge out there, my inclination is to research thoroughly before I do most things. It an eagerness not to repeat mistakes or take errant paths, making sure I am aware and learn who […]

MyShed v1-1

Posted by Andrew on January 5th, 2007

During my trawl through last years journals I also came across this blueprint work of genius?

As you can probably guess from the diagram - it is a unique shed design designed specifically for writers. It features many innovations, including an underground tunnel to a neighbouring “dog shed”.
NOTE: To prevent any sort of smell transfer it […]

Pet Radish

Posted by Andrew on September 25th, 2006

So here I am redrafting a short story. I am trying to find a subtle balance between the emotional and passionate elements of the story without hacking it in to something contrived or sentimental. I am finding it quite tough and feel I need a break - some distance. I decide to take a break, […]

I have a writing assignment, for my OU course, due in 3 weeks time. I have to write a short story and as of yet I have absolutely no idea of what to write.

Deep thunder shatters the symphony of the showers might.Solace soaks me to the bone, something is amisswhen the rain falls through the darkness of night
The darkness draws out […]

TMA03 - Poetry

Posted by Andrew on July 15th, 2006

Here are the 2 poems that I submitted for the poetry assignment of my writing course.
Firstly, my attempt at a Villanelle…How quick am I to capture a scream
How quick am I to capture a scream,When the shadows are so languid loud.Where is my pen when I’m walking a dream?
My world upside down and tearing […]

On the bridge

Posted by Andrew on June 20th, 2006

Dark delusion turns each step tentative
I creep; my thoughts swirling like wind
swaying the fragile bridge menicingly
under feet, weighed down by fear of falling
I slow to stop, turning, stuttering to see
the stagnant home of yesterday shimmering
past tales beating against the shutters of my mind
yet, each second withering, until I turn.
Eyes forward, peering to the promise and […]
